Our commitment to enhancing the sustainability and competitiveness of our facilities, our “green” investment program aimed at continuously improving our environmental performance, as well as our innovative value-added solutions, were recognized and rewarded at the 2021 Mining Awards, held for the first time. LAVA S.A. was distinguished and won the gold award in the “Industrial Minerals” category.
The “green” actions that stood out were landscape rehabilitation, protection of marine biodiversity and seawater desalination at our facility in Yali, Nisyros.
Moreover, we received the silver award in the “Local society development” category for our dedication to social contribution, the protection of Health & Safety of our employees and contractors, as well as the creation of added value at local and national levels.
